Risk assessment

EU guidelines and laws implemented accordingly in German law require a risk assessment / hazard analysis. The basic norm DIN EN ISO 12100 outlines general principles for design as well as term definitions and describes the risk assessment process in detail.

Using the example of the chaise longue, this is how the 3C Group implements the safety related legal requirements of risk assessment:

An accredited testing laboratory tests the following:

Determination of stability in accordance with DIN EN 1022
Determination of strength and durability RAL GZ 430

The risk assessment is an iterative process for maximum risk reduction. Once it has been decided that the risk is sufficiently reduced, the risk assessment is documented. The product is only CE compliant and receives the EC conformity declaration after successful completion of the test!
